Originally from Mercedes-Benz the SBC (sensatronic brake control) units were programmed to display a fault code after 300,000 applications of the pedal (Mercedes used the language "run out of permissible tolerances, thereby triggering the hydraulic Back Up Function Mode Limited ").
√ Important √ After the grey sign Warning the brakes are reduced to Back Up Function as stated above and not fully functionally @ 100% !
There was a recall so that the units could be reprogrammed and extend their lifetime.
This repair or replacement service can be done two ways:
1. When there is a Gray Warning message on dashboard, you bring us the car to get programmed in order to have it fixed before get Brake Reduced !!
2. When you get a RED LIGHT on dashboard, will assist at your mechanic or place to fully diagnose the problem and repair at our capabilities depend on the state of the unit and the damaged parts involved.
Also, we can come to your place - Tirane and surroundings, based on appointment only!
Price will vary depending on the condition of your unit.
For example, a full reset of the Counter Blocker (SERVICE BRAKE VISIT WORKSHOP gray message) will give best price on Whatsapp..
Some examples of SERVICE BRAKE VISIT WORKSHOP fault codes are: C249F, C235A, C235C, C235D. C235E, C2359, C2498 (OPERATING TIME OF COMPONENT A7/3 IS EXCEEDED).
Bear in mind that a new unit is up to 1200 Euro and a second hand one is anything between 300 - 800 Euro but you don't know the condition of the pump. It can work 1 month or 1 year until will need to be refurbished.
